Ilocos Roadtrip

Pagudpud Philippines
I'm sorry for being MIA (apologizing as if someone even reads my blog). I've spent my 4-month vacation productively inside our house sleeping, eating, watching movies/series, and reading books. Of course, there were outdoor strolls on weekends with family.

So I've said in my previous post that we spent Holy Week at Ilocos with the whole family. We're a bunch of people whenever we travel and it's just so fun to be around with everyone.

It was my second time along with some of my relatives to be in Ilocos, the last time we were there was summer of 2010. It was so nice to be back bringing everyone in tow! The 12-hour travel time was super long but at least fun! It's also nice that my brother, dad and I were alternatingly driving on our way to Ilocos and on our way back home. I was so proud of myself that I get to drive 4-hours straight along La Union to Ilocos with the roads zig-zag, with the buses and trucks and just when the sun is about to rise. I suck in driving on provincial roads. Glad I was of help at least with driving and glad i was able to kept up with my driving pros tito and tita.

Our first stop is of course at Vigan Ilocos Sur!!!
Vigan according to wikipedia.org: "It is a World Heritage Site in that it is one of the few Hispanic towns left in the Philippines where its structures remained intact, and is well known for its cobblestone streets, and a unique architecture that fuses Philippine and Oriental building designs and construction, with colonial European architecture."

You can also get ride at pretty carriages! I just don't know how much.
Some stuff you can buy. Vigan longganisa is famous but I havent tasted it yet tho.
Beautiful old colonial houses
Thanks cousin for photobombing!
Everyone's tired from the long hours of travel but still poses for the camera :D

Kyot! Roaming around the streets of Vigan
Kyot! This was at Bangui Windmills.

Touch down Pagudpud! It maybe took us an hour or two from Vigan to Pagudpud. The kids, teenagers, young adults, changed clothes and headed straight to beach. Guess what they were looking for? Hermit crabs!
This picture has a nice story! My cousin saw a balsa then took it to waters.  When everyone saw it, everyone went and ride on the balsa. It's so funny! How can it even float hahahaha!
The boys had their turn first on the balsa

But luckily, we found another two balsas so everyone can be accommodated haha.

My favorite shots of this trip are: one is the cover photo of this post and so as this one. I don't want to get wet at first so I was the photographer, but it the end though I gave in and rode the balsa with them. #isipbata

Back in 2010,  it was the first waterfalls I got to swim at.
trekking on the way to Kabigan Falls
Kester's New Flash Rayban glasses reflecting me
The trekking was almost an hour and half. It was safe to trek here compared to Baler's Mother Falls which was a buwis buhay trekking experience for me! But definitely it was more thrilling and beautiful at Baler's Mother Falls.
After an hour and half, the falls!!!

On our way back..
Kyot!
Stopover at Bantay Abot Cave on our way to Blue Lagoon.
at Bantay Abot Cave
Upon parking at Blue Lagoon, we got stuck at the fine white sands. Anyway, everyone were so happy to push the car! It's so funny everyone clapped when it was removed.
The cottages near the beach looks like this
Blue Lagoon!
Spot the flying man!
So in love with this beach. The name Blue Lagoon has given it justice. Though, last 4 years ago, it was less crowded. The structure at the top of the mountain is where the zip line starts.
Of course, we spent the rest of the day swimming here. We are all beach people! We enjoy just swimming, bathing under the sun and get eaten by those big waves! I swear Pagudpud's waves were the largest I have encountered.
Kyotie Rhianne! Her incisors were all gone making her a vampire haha

We enjoyed playing frisbee! It's so cool!

The place we were staying at was where we also stayed at last 2010. It's huge but there's ghost and big tuko. Ano english ng tuko?
At Patapat Viaduct. I solemnly swear that this is a must visit. It felt like we were not in the Philippines. The construction was super awesome.
at Cape Bojeador

I did not bother to see again Marcos' preserved body coz it's creepy. We took chances again to trespass Imelda's house but get caught again. LOL.
Paoay Sand Dunes
Nice shot!
They get to ride this 4x4 vehicle. I also want to but I hesitated because of my back condition.. but also it's for 6 people only. /sad
Kuya Obet and Miguel rode this ATV
The kids who were not able to ride decided to just play on the vast sand area
They returned! They said it was so fun and a must ride!
Paoay Church

Our last stop was Vigan again on our way home coz I guess they were gonna buy Vigan longganisa and other pasalubongs. It was my first time to visit Vigan at night. i never though it would be this lovely!

This sums up our Holy Week 2014 Roadtrip! I hope next year will be as awesome as this year's!
